Carly Clements-Hardy
Outdoor Painter

Having always loved the outdoors, plein air painting came naturally to me. My outdoor paintings serve as references to larger, more abstract, oil paintings on canvas in the studio. Comments from viewers range
from "ethereal", and "atmospheric" to, "That's where I'd like to be!".

Painting became my passion when a friend coerced me into taking a summer class in oils
that she was teaching more than 25 years ago. Since that first workshop, I've learned much from other artists
who have shared their wealth of knowledge and have encouraged me to pursue my dreams!
The landscape became my instructor while painting outdoors and workshops
with internationally known artists, Susan Sarback, Alan Flattmann, Terry Ludwig, Bob Rohm, and Elsie Dresch,
 opened my eyes to color, challenged me to paint consistently, and to believe in both myself and my art.
