Painting plein air is more than
just painting outdoors. It is sunlight
playing across a field that gives me new enthusiasm in spite of 100 degree
temps. It is a flickering dewdrop on a leaf that suddenly becomes an
abstract....reflections in a lake that mesmerize.....and simple shadows across a
path that become a focal point. It is the excitement of building a relationship
with the landscape and sharing that thru my art.
My recent work is inspired by Creighton Island, an intercoastal Georgia island surrounded by marsh and inhabited mainly by wild hogs, cattle, deer and other wildlife. Its beautiful marshlands gleam with ever changing colors from sunrise to sunset and the pathways thru the live oaks beckon one to paint. Join me on one of my outdoor painting adventures with "The Creighton Crew"! Join Carly and other artists at the 3rd Annual Historic Buford Plein Air Festival! sponsored by Tannery Row Artist Colony. Two days of painting followed by an awards ceremony and reception! Link below.. *** "Sunny Side UP!" A Summer Celebration of Art Featuring the artists of
